New Update: Externally Calibrated Equipment Features Maintenance

Enhancements have been made to provide better organization for Externally Calibrated Equipment. Advance notice and budget planning are often needed to schedule external calibrations for certain equipment. The intent of this update is to provide a better way to keep track of equipment calibrations that are not performed in-house.

New features include:

-A separate folder within the Inventory Tab and a green flag on equipment (similar to the yellow Measurement Standards flag). A separate folder is now also available to view Equipment Procedures within the Inventory Tab as well.

-A new window within the Manage Lab Tab to track calibration costs for equipment over time and to view upcoming due dates. Externally Calibrated Equipment now shares a window with Measurement Standards. From the same window, you may now export a budget report that captures the cost data in spreadsheet form.

-A new 'External' procedure type available for equipment with an 'Externally Calibrated' flag. This is essentially a blank procedure form to upload files and record the name of the calibration company.

-Advanced and distinct notice on the dashboard and emails for upcoming procedures. An automatic, extended lead time of 3 months is applied to this equipment to give adequate notice.

How do I tell the app which equipment has external calibrations?

Go to the inventory, view the equipment, select "Edit info and Procedures", scroll to the bottom and toggle the switch labeled: "Calibrations or maintenance performed by an outside service". This is located right beneath the current Measurement Standards toggle switch.
